Questions before you book
Arriving
When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 3 pm. Check-out by 10 am. Self check-in by smart lock.
Where do we park, and what is the driveway like?
Free parking at the house; street parking is also available.
The driveway is steep and low-clearance cars may scrape. Your arrival instructions explain the best approach.
How far are the beach and town?
The beach and town are a short drive downhill. Walking back up is a steep climb that may not suit everyone.
How long is the drive from Melbourne?
From Flinders Street in Melbourne, Lorne is roughly 143 km by road, about 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic.
Can we reach you during our stay?
We are available if you need a hand during your stay.
The house
How many guests, and what are the beds?
Up to 10 guests. Beds: a king (with ensuite), two queens and two king singles. Portacot and high chair on request.
Are linen and towels included?
Linen and towels are included, and beds are made for your arrival.
How is the house heated and cooled?
Wood fire, with firewood supplied. Reverse-cycle air conditioning in the living room and main bedroom.
What is in the kitchen?
Full kitchen with island bench: oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso machine. Cookware and tableware.
What are the bathrooms like?
Ensuite (main bedroom): shower and toilet. Family bathroom: bath and separate shower.
Is there Wi-Fi?
The house has Wi-Fi.
Is there a washing machine?
Washing machine and dryer.
Can we charge an electric car?
15A socket for EV charging; bring your own compatible portable charger.
Is the garden fenced?
The garden is unfenced.
What wildlife has been seen here?
Past guests have seen kookaburras, king parrots and cockatoos on the deck, and kangaroos and wallabies at the property. Sightings vary.
Rules
Are pets, smoking or parties allowed?
No pets, no smoking, and no parties or events. This is a quiet residential street.

How do we book?
Choose your dates and guests on the Check dates page.
Check dates opens our booking page. The total, fees and cancellation terms are shown there before you pay. The booking is with us, the owners, through our Hospitable booking page.
Can we stay for a few weeks or more?
Longer stays are welcome. Ask us about stays of a few weeks or more.
Can we add the downstairs suite?
Self-contained downstairs suite:
- Kitchen
- King bed
- Shower and toilet
- Living room with TV
- Its own deck
- It can be added for your own group only, and is never let separately.
- It is not included in a standard booking.
- Ask us before you book and we will confirm availability and the extra cost.
Both bathrooms are in the main house; the downstairs suite has its own shower and toilet.
